Hi HN, I built threadfork. It's an AI notetaker where the whole pipeline runs locally on Apple Silicon. Your microphone and system audio gets captured without a meeting bot and most importantly your meeting data doesn’t get sent or saved anywhere. I've been building in the privacy + local LLM space for the past several years (I started DataFog, an OSS PII detection library with 300K+ downloads); keeping all the processing and data on-device was a day 0 condition for me when building this out. Granola's updated privacy policy, effective later this week, keeps non-enterprise users opted into model training on "de-identified" data by default. Having built PII detection for a living, I'll say plainly: de-identifying meeting transcripts is really hard. Names are the easy part; deal terms, client details, and health disclosures are the transcript. For the lawyers, consultants, and therapists I've been talking to, the only version of this that holds up is the model never seeing the data at all. It's macOS 14+ on Apple M-Series computers (for now), 14-day trial, no credit card. I have a user running this on an M1 8GB so older machines welcome. $40/month after that. A searchable, timestamped index of 1,124 AI Engineer talks
I love the videos and talks that appear on my feed ever day from the AI Engineer conferences. Unfortunately, there are so many of them it's often hard to find the time to keep up, or to watch what I'd like. So I built aietalks.com, a searchable written index and archive of all the talks on the AI Engineer Youtube channel. We currently cover 1,124 talks. The individual talk pages offer tl;dr summaries, key quotes and other summarised information from the videos. Search and packs allow you to find the talks that matter for your particular interest or use case. All the pages are accessible for agents etc though .md files (just add it to the URL) or via an auth-free MCP server which we offer. The site updates each day as new talks come in, with a little bit of a delay for me to handle deduplication or transcription errors of names and so on. Hope you enjoy this and find it useful!

HN Match Maker
Hi! Every month the "Who Wants to Be Hired?" and "Who's Hiring?" Threads come through I would think to myself, "there should be a match maker for these two threads". So I had abacus.ai whip one up. The methodology is pretty simple, data is extracted from posts using an LLM, score matches based on salary, domain experience, remote/onsite, etc., and then eliminate incompatible postings, like 'looking for remote work' and 'onsite only'. The result is two views: jobs-by-user and user-by-jobs.
