HN Match Maker
Hi! Every month the "Who Wants to Be Hired?" and "Who's Hiring?" Threads come through I would think to myself, "there should be a match maker for these two threads". So I had abacus.ai whip one up. The methodology is pretty simple, data is extracted from posts using an LLM, score matches based on salary, domain experience, remote/onsite, etc., and then eliminate incompatible postings, like 'looking for remote work' and 'onsite only'. The result is two views: jobs-by-user and user-by-jobs. There wasn't a simple way to access, reuse, or share them with others. With Supafork, you can save complete agent sessions, organize them into collections, make them public or private, and fork other people's sessions to build on their workflows. You can also import sessions from one harness into another, or invite friends to a session to get visibility into what your agent is doing. Think GitHub, but for agents. I built an online viewer and editor for .md files where the file stays on your machine. Free to use and code is available under MIT License here: https://github.com/hattray/markdown-editor You can also install it as a Chrome/Edge app so that it works for files on your desktop by double-clicking. Supports standard .md files with formatting, syntax-highlighting for code, table of contents, Mermaid diagrams, LaTeX via KaTex. Also supports exporting to .html, .pdf and .png. Hi HN, we are Sina Atalay and Abdullah Geduk, co-founders of Academa. We are both PhD students. We thought: what if lecture videos were written as code and compiled into video using computer graphics and TTS? Then LLMs could write them, and lectures could be fixed with code edits instead of video production. On correctness: LLMs may make mistakes. But these videos are code sitting in our repository, and we can maintain them. Every report and review becomes a fix in the source, and everyone who watches after that gets the corrected lecture. Every recorded lecture on the internet is stuck with its mistakes. Ours will continuously improve. Each video also comes with an AI chat that understands everything said and shown in the lecture.
